Vin Diesel, Jordanna Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez and Ludacris accepted the award for Choice Action/Adventure movie for Furious 7 at the Teen Choice Awards on the evening of Aug. 16.

The Wire's Idris Elba To Join Fast and Furious 8?

While thanking the fans and remembering Paul Walker, Diesel let slip what could be an important detail about the sequel to Furious 7. He referred to the upcoming eighth installment of the series as Fast 8. This could very well be the official title of the next film, following Furious 7's great success.

Diesel dedicated the award to Walker's memory, and the fact that he was family to all of them.

Jason Statham Confirms Return For Fast and Furious 8

"I can't stand here and be rewarded like this without talking about somebody very, very, very important to us. One of the best blessings in our lives is the fact that we had the opportunity to call Pablo our brother. Paul Walker is here in spirit with us."

And while signing off, the actor called the sequel Fast 8: "I love all of you. I love all of you, and until Fast 8..."

Earlier this year, Diesel had dropped another big hint about the title of the movie, and that doesn't quite tie in with this new title. The actor posted an image on Instagram getting fans amped for the sequel to Furious 7.

The picture shows an iteration of the Fast and Furious 8 logo cast in garage metal, with New York City in the backdrop, the Brooklyn Bridge with the city's skyline. We did not think to take it seriously and assume that this would be the official logo for the upcoming film, but an IGN report suggested that this was the new logo for the next movie.

Fast and Furious 8 will be released on April 15, 2017.
