When affair-facilitating hookup site Ashely Madison was hacked last month and its data held for ransom under threat of public leaking, it's safe to say that no one thought that disgraced 19 Kids & Counting star Josh Duggar would somehow be involved. Claims of Duggar's sexual misconduct as a teenager and his family's handling of the allegations years ago, led to TLC to unceremoniously cancel the show.

But then the hackers uploaded the customer data to the deep web, the anonymous back alley of the Internet, and reporters analyzing the files discovered Duggar's info listed among the users. It was a bizarre and fascinating turn, especially since before his fall Duggar had used his TV fame to leverage himself a position as a conservative values advocate, publicly decrying against gay marriage.

And now it looks like Josh Duggar is admitting to the two-faced behavior. In a statement posted to the Duggar family website, Duggar confesses to cheating on his wife and more. The post, which you can read in full below, starts off with Duggar writing that he's been "the biggest hypocrite ever" and while he doesn't confirm if he had an Ashley Madison account he does write that he's been "unfaithful" to his wife and living a "double life"

Statements From Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and Josh Duggar

Statement from Jim Boband Michelle Duggar: Please see the statement below from our son Josh regarding recent media stories about him. When we learned of this late last night our hearts were broken. As we continue to place our trust in God we ask for your prayers for Josh, Anna, our grandchildren and our entire family.

Statement from Josh Duggar:

I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have been unfaithful to my wife.

I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.

I have brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions.

The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country I was hiding my own personal failures.

As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all the hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example.

I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time.

Josh Duggar

According to Gawker, the site that first found Josh Duggar's info among the Ashley Madison hacked data, a previous version of the apology included a line that admitted to secretly viewing online pornography, which became a secret addiction.

Zap2It is also reporting that another earlier version of the apology Duggar wrote that he'd "allowed Satan to build a fortress" in his heart.
