NCIS will return to TV screens very soon for its new season and even more details have been revealed about the big premiere!

Bishop's Relationship With Her Husband Will Get Rocky In New Season Of 'NCIS'?

TVLine reported Tuesday that the premiere episode called Stop the Bleeding would definitely focus on Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) recovery from being shot as we have previously reported.

"You have this very old-school view of what being a federal agent is about, and when you get shot and seriously injured by a 12-year-old.... That in our mind changes everything," Gary Glasberg, the showrunner, dished about how things will change especially for Gibbs.

Will Cote de Pablo Return To 'NCIS' For A Guest Spot During Season 13?

That isn't all that will happen, though. As we've previously revealed, Gibbs and Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) will find themselves at odds with each other especially since DiNozzo will be leading the team.

"Tony turned down the opportunity to have his own team years ago. Now he can't help but look at things and wonder, 'Is this what I want?'" Glasberg shared, shedding a bit more light on DiNozzo's thoughts and why Gibbs and him are bumping heads.

Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) and Eleanor "Ellie" Bishop (Emily Wickersham) will also have plenty going on in the premiere since they will be going undercover with Bishop taking the role of a Marine and McGee portraying her civilian husband.

"That should be pretty fun!" Wickersham shared of going undercover with her costar.

NCIS returns to CBS on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET.
