Bethenny Frankel, one of the stars of "Real Housewives of New York," appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Wednesday and opened up about her recent divorce.

The 40-year-old reality star and Skinnygirl mogul was brought to tears as she talked about her life in front of the cameras.

"Do I want to be doing this exact thing right now? No, but I can't just only be on reality TV and show everything when it's fair princess, fairy tale and then not take my hits when I have to," Frankel explained, as reported by E! Online. "I've kind of had the best worst year ever."

Frankel recently filed for divorce from her husband of two years, Jason Hoppy.

"I feel like a bit of a disappointment to all of you," she said in reference to television viewers and fans of her show. "And I feel like a failure."

Host Ellen DeGeneres tried to comfort Frankel saying: "You are not a disappointment. You are not a failure."

"I feel like a failure," Frankel lamented.

Frankel and Hoppy were wed during a televised ceremony in 2010. They have a two-year-old daughter, Bryn.

"I really put it out there," Frankel continued. "I wanted the fairytale. I thought I had it. And Bryn is my fairy tale."

Frankel met the 41-year-old pharmaceutical sales executive when she was filming "The Real Housewives of New York" in 2009. A spin-off series was created called "Bethenny Getting Married" which gave fans an inside look into her wedding. She was given a second series titled "Bethenny Ever After" which chronicled her married life and her daughter's birth.

Frankel announced her split with Hoppy on Dec. 23, 2012, according to Us Weekly Magazine.

"This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family," Frankel told Us.

Frankel continued: "We have love and respect for one another and will continue to amicably co-parent our daughter who is and will always remain our first priority. This is an immensely painful and heartbreaking time for us."
