Golnesa "GG" Gharachedaghi began chemo on Friday.

'Shahs Of Sunset' Star Reza Farahan & Adam Neely Wed In Palm Springs

Over three years after announcing she was suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis, the Shahs Of Sunset star announced plans for treatment.

"Today is the day I begin the process of chemotherapy," Gharachedaghi announced on Instagram on Friday. "Never have I ever been so scared yet so excited at the same time. I'm scared because, well, the fucking obvious, it's chemo! But I'm excited because for 5 years I've put this off because of my fear of the word "chemotherapy" and I've now reached a place of acceptance. My RA is working in overcharge and my health has not been getting better. But today I will take charge and hope for a better tomorrow. Hopefully I will inspire others to not be afraid as well. Thank you all for always being so supportive of me on this journey. Wish me luck!!!"

Along with her announcement, Gharachedaghi told fans, "I want to inspire people. I want someone to look at me and say, ‘Because of you I didn’t give up."

According to the Arthritis Foundation, Rheumatoid Arthritis is defined as "an autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system – which normally protects its health by attacking foreign substances like bacteria and viruses – mistakenly attacks the joints."

Shahs Of Sunset was renewed for a fifth season months ago, but so far, no premiere date has been set.
