Girl Meets World fans will have to wait until the New Year to find out whether or not Lucas and Maya's relationship will take off.

The pair ended their first date with a classic girl-dumps-drink-on-boy moment, and viewers were left to wonder if these two crazy kids will ever work it out. According to the series' writers, the couple won't make any headway until "Girl Meets New Years."

"What is coming will surprise you. The story continues in New Year and Legacy (The finale)," the Girl Meets World Writers twitter teased in the wake of "Girl Meets Texas: Part 3" (see video below).

In the meantime, the Disney Channel series will dish out revelations about Maya's father in "Girl Meets Forgiveness" and the origins of Maya and Riley's friendship in "Girl Meets the Bay Window."

Airing order and air dates are currently unknown, but fans can now check out a list of the remaining season 2 episode titles:
