That was quite an enticing finale to Switched at Birth.

Chatter On The 'Switched At Birth' Baby Shower

SPOILER ALERT The finale ended with Bay and Daphne in China where 10 months go by. As they seem to get things together, there is a phone call demanding they come home immediately. So what does this mean for the fifth season?

Series creator Lizzy Weiss spoke to The Wrap about this in Monday's report. She kept things pretty vague with no storylines becoming official as of yet.

'Switched At Birth' Creator Says Series Is 'Not Over'

"Not everything is fleshed out, but there is a general plan," Weiss said on what's going to happen next. "We had a million ideas [for what the cliffhanger would be], and we may still use a couple of them. There are some stories that I still love and that we may still use."

The creator then dished on what can be expected for Toby and Lily now that they've become parents.

"The baby has been a big part of the season that we've touched upon a bunch of times, and has been part of our larger series conversation about difference," Weiss said. "And it's just another strand for difference. It was just important that we end the first part of that journey. On the other hand, you're just beginning the journey. That is a really beautiful moment, and one of my favorites, not just in the episode, but in the series."

Switched at Birth Season 5 is expected to premiere in early 2016 on ABC Family (which will later be titled as Freeform).
