Zooey Deschanel stood out at the 70th annual Golden Globes on Sunday, Jan. 13, and not just for her red dress by Oscar De La Renta.

She wowed her fashion followers when she decided to go with a Hollywood theme for her manicure.

Deschanel, who was nominated for Best Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy for her role as Jessica Day in her hit show "New Girl," had gold camera reels and retro movie camera hand-painted on her index finger and two middle nails.

The 32-year-old flaunted her "film strip" nail art on her Instagram account and later to Giuliana Rancic, who co-hosted E!'s "Live From The Red Carpet." The nail art complimented the actress' red gown, which she accented with a pearl necklace and matching bracelet. Her side ponytail gave her an overall retro vibe with a 1950s prom queen feel. The night's fashion trends included retro hair (soft waves swept to one side a' la Rita Hayworth), thigh-high slits and the colors nude, cream, blush, red, black and white.

The "She & Him" singer has always had a passion for nail art. At last year's Golden Globes Deschanel had tiny tuxedos hand painted on her nails, perhaps a nod to the men who arrived sharply dressed on the red carpet.

"I am wearing a gown but my nails are wearing tuxedos!!!" she tweeted at the time.

At the 2012 Emmys in September, Deschanel had television sets hand-painted on her nails. The rest of the manicure was a golden shade embellished with rhinestones.

With the Oscars airing live on television next month, there is no telling what Deschanel might have painted on her nails. Maybe the gold Oscar statue?
