The official title of the Power Ranger reboot and the the main cast for the movie have been finally revealed.

RJ Cyler will be portraying the blue ranger in the movie, as was confirmed via the film's official Instagram account. Comic Book also reported that Priya Patel will be playing the Pink Ranger.

Cyler and Patel join Ludi Lin, who will be portraying the Black Ranger, Naomi Scott, who will be playing the Pink Ranger, and Dacre Montgomery, who will be portraying the part of the Red Ranger.

According to the Comic Book report, the movie will be titled Saban's Power Rangers. The co-creator of the series Haim Saban wished to attach his name to the title

Previously a Variety report revealed that the casting process for the Power Rangers reboot has begun.

Sources informed the publication that they were looking for up-and-coming talent for the new movie, testing for which had begun. The names of some of the actors who were reportedly testing for main parts were also revealed.

Daniel Zovatto, last seen in the indie horror film It Follows, Ross Butler of Chasing Life and Brian "Sene" Marc are auditioning for the part of Zack aka the Black Ranger. Actors KJ Apa (Shortland Street), Austing Butled (The Shannara Chronicles) and Mitchell Hope (The Descendants) were auditioning for Jason aka the Red Ranger.

The movie which has been scripted by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, is based on origins of The Mighty Morphins Power Rangers when the Rangers were still in high school. Dean Israelite will be directing and the film will be produced by Haim Saban, Brian Casentini and Allison Shearmur.

Little else is known about the film so far as it is still in its very early stages.

The original movie, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie was released in 1995 and starred Rocky DeSantos, Adam Park, Billy Cranston, Aisha Campbell, Kimberly Hart, and Tommy Oliver. The movie was directed by Bryan Spicer and written by John Kamps and Arne Olson.

The movie will release on January 13, 2017.
