Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) and Riley's (Rowan Blanchard) friendship is the heart and soul of the teen drama, but viewers have yet to learn how the BFFs came to be the inseparable duo we know and love. Somehow, the story of their favorite meeting spot will spark the waterworks.

"We just edited Bay Window. Everybody's crying," Girl Meets World's writers tweeted. "I mean, saw the taping, knew what was coming, still broke down. Bring tissues."

Will these be tears of happiness or tears of despair? The Boy Meets World next generation series has taken on some weighty matters this season, and this new trend will carry through to the end of the season.

"The simple stories portion of our program is officially over," the writers teased. "You have asked us to take on real issues. We are listening."

Before we can dive into "Bay Window," however, Disney will air "Girl Meets the Forgiveness Project," "Girl Meets Sludge," and "Girl Meets Belief."

Girl Meets World airs Fridays at 8:30 p.m. ET on the Disney Channel.
