NBA sportscaster Ahmad Rashad and his wife of five years, Sale Johnson, separated and are reportedly trying to negotiate a divorce settlement before they file for divorce later on in the year, according to Gossip Extra.

The website noted that Johnson's representatives said she grew tired of Rashad's growing friendship with NBA legend Michael Jordan and golfer Tiger Woods. Woods lives near Rashad and Johnson on Jupiter Island in Florida, and Jordan, who bought himself a new home, will soon be a part of the Bear Clubs community where the couple lived. The 11,000-square-foot property they lived in, worth an estimated $5 million, is owned solely by Johnson, according to the deed.

"Sale has asked him to move out," a source said to the New York Post. "Things appear to be very bitter. He is trying to get her banned from his country club in Florida. And she worries about the influence of known adulterers Woods and Jordan.

"He plays golf with Tiger Woods. He's also close friends with Michael Jordan, who was living with them for over a year."

However, Rashad's party said the reason for the split was that the relationship has run its course.

Several sources said the two have been separated for months. As far as Rashad getting money out of the divorce settlement, "Sale has a watertight prenup with Ahmad, so if they divorce, he won't be walking away with tens of millions," the source said.

Johnson is a former fashion model, and the ex-wife of New York Jets owner and Johnson & Johnson heir Woody Johnson. Rashad is a former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver and former host of "The NBA" on NBC. They have been together since 2005 but wed in 2007.

Sale received more than $100 million in her 2001 divorce from Woody, according to reports. They had three children together.

If separation proceedings continue, it will be Rashad's fourth divorce. He proposed to "Cosby Show" star Phylicia Ayers-Allen on live television in 1985 and they divorced in 2001.
