Emma Stone, an actress known for her chic style, has taken a dramatic departure from her lady-like VOGUE cover photos. Stone surprisingly shed her good girl image when she stripped for the cover of W magazine.

Stone, 24, shockingly wears a strapless black bra and not much else - a black leather jacket draped off of her shoulder- for the cover of the February 2013 issue. She wears very little makeup and sports messy blonde hair with brunette roots.

"The Gangster Squad" actress is fronting the magazine's "Movie Issue." In the magazine cover story, Stone discussed the difficulty of not being funny when she shoots a non-comedic film and her memorable Oscars moment with Ben Stiller that led fans to believe she appeared onstage drunk.

Stone admitted that while it is "uncomfortable" to take on a more serious role that does not require her to be funny, sometimes it is "exhilarating" to work on films that do not require her to deliver great comedic timing.

"In real life, sometimes it's uncomfortable for me not to go for the joke," Stone told W. "I've been looking at that in myself lately. Often, joking for me is a way of diffusing the awkwardness of a situation, so it's kind of exhilarating to be a part of projects where there's nothing funny or lighthearted."

Stone opened up for the first time about her for her memorable Oscars moment when she presented with Ben Stiller. The actress appeared so giddy as they announced the nominees for the Best Visual Effects award that it caused speculation that alcohol was involved. Stone confessed that she didn't drink any until after she stepped off stage.

"We pretended that Ben had been to the Oscars many times and I was this really overly enthusiastic Oscar presenter. I was very excited, and he was not... A lot of people thought it was something else: When I came offstage, they were saying, 'You were so drunk!' And I wasn't. Not until after."

Stone's latest film, "Gangster Squad" arrived in theaters on Jan. 11.
