It appears Charlie Sheen may getting forced to disclose publicly that he is HIV positive due to an upcoming story by The National Enquirer.

Will Charlie Sheen Confirm He Is HIV Positive? Vote In Our Poll

The actor, who's name has been tossed around non-stop following a rumor that an A-list Hollywood actor had HIV, is set to make a "personal announcement" in an exclusive one-on-one interview with Matt Lauer on The Today Show Tuesday-but he may only have conceded to the interview-and the possibility that he is confirming the story--because of the impending story.

Unlike prior publications, which all kept the actor's identity hidden, The National Enquirer story explicitly names Sheen as the actor, and claims he has been keeping his diagnosis a secret for four years and paid off several women into keeping quiet about his potentially exposing them to the disease.

Charlie Sheen To Appear On 'TODAY'

According to the magazine's story, the 50-year-old actor never notified multiple partners about his disease, and he has since paid off several women to keep quiet about the diagnosis.

"The fact is, he was playing Russian roulette with their lives, while the women were playing Russian roulette with the prospect of becoming pregnant by Sheen, and being set for life."

One woman allegedly settled a civil action lawsuit against Sheen after hiring Gloria Allred as her attorney, but many other reportedly received several means of payment from the actor-to a total tune of $5 million-in exchange for their silence.

"Charlie bought her a house in Calabasas and put her on his payroll to keep quiet. Now she's married, and her husband are living off Charlie," the ex-boyfriend of one of the alleged women said.

In addition the report also sites instances with both Sheen's ex-fiancee, adult film star Brett Rossi (real name Scottine Ross) and third wife Brooke Mueller, which show that the two women both ended things with him after learning of his HIV status.

The magazine reportedly obtained a video of Ross, screaming at Sheen where she says he exposed her to HIV for a year and a half, and quoted sources who claimed he never used protection with her and did wait to tell her about his diagnosis.

A text message from Mueller to Sheen's former assistant was also reportedly obtained which read, "I couldn't handle the HIV news. Just 6 months ago I was diagnosed with the eye disease and then Charlie potentially giving me HIV."

Nothing has been said refuting the Enquirer's claims, and Sheen also dropped the subject of legal action against the website The Dirty, which speculated his name as the scandal broke. If the stories are true, they may have forced Sheen to no longer keep the truth a secret, and his planned appearance on TODAY could be a way to end the speculation once and for all.
