Richard Hatch may have been Survivor's first winner but next year he will compete to be the biggest loser.

Who On 'Survivor: Cambodia' Will Be The Next One Voted Out?

Hatch, who famously won Survivor: Borneo back in 2000, is coming back to the world of reality TV in January on NBC's The Biggest Loser. The reality star weighs in at 314 lbs. and is hoping to get down to 225 lbs. by the end of this process.

"I'm dying to learn why I want to be fat," Hatch says in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight. "I wouldn't be fat if I didn't want to be fat, so clearly I want to be fat. That's my journey. That's why I'm here."

Why Stephen Fishbach Is 'Done' With 'Survivor'

This will be the 17th season of The Biggest Loser, which will incorporate themes of temptation into the mix from shopping to electronic devices.

So while Hatch wants to slim down for his own health and happiness, are there other motives at play too? Could the 54-year-old be shaping up for another go at Survivor soon?

Hatch returned for Survivor: All Stars back in 2004 and it did not go well. He was voted out in the first Tribal Council he attended and was involved in a nasty interaction with fellow Borneo castaway Sue Hawk - which led to her quitting the game.

Survivor has changed pretty significantly since those early years, though, and Hatch may not be the target he once was if he were to return. When you have the likes of Russell Hantz, Tony Vlachos and others doing whatever it takes to win, Hatch's reputation may seem tame by comparison.

It remains to be seen if Hatch will be asked to play Survivor again but with the current season, Survivor: Cambodia - Second Chance, bringing back Borneo runner-up Kelly Wiglesworth 15 years later, anything is possible.

The Biggest Loser will premiere Jan. 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.

Meanwhile, Survivor: Cambodia - Second Chance airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
