They fell just short of making it to the final legs of The Amazing Race, but their elimination isn't keeping mother/son team Denise and James Earl from being grateful for the experience they had.

Will The Green Team Win It All?

Team Alabama was eliminated after finishing last during the 10th leg in India, and following their elimination, they spoke to Parade Magazine about the experience, and revealed that they had no regrets because they did achieve their main goal of repairing their relationship, which became fractured when James Earl came out as gay, which conflicted with his mother's religious beliefs.

"We wanted to join The Amazing Race for two reasons: the experience of a lifetime and the chance to re-connect and bond as mother and son," James Earl said.

A Surprising Elimination Happens In India

"Our major goal was to not be eliminated first!" Denise added. "But we really hoped to just compete well and show how tough we are. I think we achieved our goals especially with bonding!"

The two also opened up about how much they learned from the experience that they never appreciated before.

"One thing that they can't show on TV very well is how hungry and tired you get. You sleep on airport floors while only eating airplane food for a couple days and then start racing around a city you've never been in before," Denise said. "Being on the show has made me much more forgiving of previous racer's mistakes and breakdowns."

And as for who they'd love to see win? Not surprisingly, they're pulling for an underdog victory-meaning not the Green Team.

"The cheerleaders; this team is one of our closest friends!" James Earl said. "Also shout-out to our Team Texas! We love them so much and had a blast racing with them! We are really hoping this team can pull out a win and be the last team standing."

The Amazing Race airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
