'Serial' New Season Release Date: Twitter Reacts To Podcast's Return & Bowe Bergdahl Case, 'Merry Christmas To Me!'
Serial season 2 has officially premiered, with eager listeners now following along with the curious case of Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl.
Bergdahl went missing from his home base in Afghanistan back in 2009 and was eventually captured by Taliban forces. This is the subject of the new season of Serial, the podcast hosted by Sarah Koenig that took the world by storm last year. The first episode of season 2 was released today, with the following episode description:
"In the middle of the night, Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl grabs a notebook, snacks, water, some cash. Then he quietly slips off a remote U.S. Army outpost in eastern Afghanistan and into the dark, open desert. About 20 minutes later, it occurs to him: he's in over his head."
Serial fans all over the world are listening to the first episode, hoping to get hooked on another big case. Some of the reactions are negative in nature, as seen by the following tweets:
It will never live up to the sensation that was Season 1. #Serial

Like a lot of supposedly polarizing things, the truth is that Serial - excuse me, #Serial - is just okay.

Meanwhile, most are excited to get back into the world of trying to solve the case alongside Koenig.
