Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria are expecting their first child, according to The Los Angeles Times.

The star of the hit TV show 30 Rock, 54, married his yoga-instructor turned sweetheart on June 30 in New York City. Baldwin's wife confirmed the news on Extra, on which the 28-year-old serves as a lifestyle news correspondent.

"We're having a baby," she announced while sitting next to Baldwin. "It was a surprise, a wonderful surprise."

"There's a scream I heard, which is a scream normally reserved if there's a spider in the house, not exaggerating," Baldwin said when his wife first learned of the news. "Normally, I will be reading a book. We're in the country, it's quiet, some time to really relax and unwind, and sometimes, once a month, you hear 'Ahhh, Alec, Alec!' I come upstairs, and there's a spider on the wall. So then I hear that scream again, but it was not a spider."

"It was followed by 'I'm pregnant, I'm pregnant!'" she said. "He runs up the stairs and I'm holding it [the test] and showing it to him."

"It really is the most amazing thing. I'm lucky," Baldwin further added.

The baby is due to arrive later in the summer. While this will be her first child for the couple, it is Baldwin's second child. The actor has a 17-year-old daughter named Ireland from his prior marriage to Oscar-winning actress Kim Basinger.

Baldwin rose to stardom on the primetime soap opera Knots Landing for two seasons and has since gone on to become a popular character film star in movies like Beetlejuice, The Departed, and The Cooler, for which earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

He just picked up a Screen Actors Guild award for his role as Jack Donaghy on the newly-wrapped NBC comedy series. Just a few weeks ago, his 30 Rock costar Tracy Morgan announced that he was expecting his fourth child.
