Singer and actress LeAnn Rimes filed a lawsuit against her former dentist claiming he ruined her teeth, which as a result ruined her career.

Rimes, 30, went to Dr. Duane C. McKay for various procedures over the span of three years, according to TMZ. She is now seeking unspecified damages for physical, emotional and psychiatric injuries, and compensation for loss of earnings.

Some of Rimes's dental work included upper front veneers and crowns, which Dr. McKay allegedly assured Rimes that it would not only help her TMJ-related pain, but also improve her appearance. However, in the lawsuit Rimes claimed the medical procedures did not help her pain - that it in fact only caused her more pain and lots of bleeding. She tweeted in October "I feel like I got hit in my right side of my face with a baseball bat."

She stated in the suit that she will suffer a "permanent cosmetic deficiency" as a result, limiting her ability to perform. She claimed she has had nine root canals, bone grafting, a temporary bridge and even physical therapy.

Rimes is married to actor Eddie Cibrian
