R & B celebrity Jason Derulo is bouncing back from a fractured neck injury that happened three weeks ago during a rehearsal tour-almost causing him to be paralyzed.

"I'm taking it one day at a time," Derulo tells People Magazine during his first interview since the accident. "It's been really eye opening. It's given me a chance to look at everything and realize how blessed I truly am."

Derulo snapped a vertebrae after attempting a dance move he's perfected numerous times, and accidently landing on his head. He's never even broke a bone before, and the accident "hurt like hell."

The 23-year-old also has a superstar support system, girlfriend and fellow chart-topper Jordan Sparks. "We are together," says Derulo, making it official. "She lives in Phoenix and she comes [to Miami] and takes care of me, brings me breakfast in bed and she'll go on walks with me. We've gotten closer because of my accident. It's awesome to have someone you can talk to and she's a wonderful person."

Derulo is not letting his injury slow him down-he's doing the exact opposite. The singer has taken up piano lessons, and is even writing music for his next album.

"I'm going to make another album while I'm down," he says. "We'll see what comes out of that. I don't know what it's called yet, but it's really inspired."
