Anne Hathaway Faces Facelift Accusations After Sharing Hairstyle ‘Secret’— Surgeon Weighs In on Her ’Snatched‘ Look

Actress Anne Hathaway has sparked fresh debate over her youthful appearance after sharing a hairstyling trick she claims gives her a facelift-like effect. Hathaway posted a behind-the-scenes video from the 2026 Academy Awards, revealing how her hairstylist braided and pulled back small sections of hair near her face into a tight ponytail to create a lifted, more awake look.
She Finds reported that while many fans applauded the simple beauty hack, speculation about whether Hathaway has undergone cosmetic surgery continues. The "Princess Diaries" star has faced ongoing rumors about plastic surgery in recent years due to changes in her facial features that some say go beyond natural aging.

Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Manish H. Shah responded to Hathaway's video, acknowledging the ponytail technique can create a temporary ponytail lift effect by pulling back the skin around the temple, brow, and mid-face areas. However, he added that achieving such a consistently youthful and snatched appearance often requires surgical procedures such as endoscopic facial surgery.
"Hair pulled back creates a lifted look because of the vector of pull," Dr. Shah explained. "But in many cases, this effect is enhanced or maintained through surgery."
Social media reactions were mixed. Some users embraced the hairstyle tip as an easy way to look younger, while others insisted Hathaway likely had a facelift. One Instagram user wrote, "This...but sis also got a facelift," while another commented, "This 'trick' was to change the narrative around her face looking 15 years younger." Another follower joked, "It works especially well when you have a facelift too!"
Hathaway, who is a mother of two, has neither confirmed nor denied undergoing cosmetic surgery. Her recent Instagram video offers fans a glimpse behind the curtain of her red carpet preparation and keeps conversations about celebrity beauty routines alive.
In separate news, E! News reported that Anne Hathaway revealed she was legally blind in one eye for nearly 10 years due to an early-onset cataract before surgery restored her vision. She said finally being able to see clearly improved both her eyesight and overall well-being.
Several other celebrities who also opened up about serious health struggles, similar to Hathaway, include Dolly Parton, Hailey Bieber, Jamie Foxx, and Emilia Clarke.
