The preview of an upcoming episode of season 17 of Law & Order: SVU shows Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) being taken hostage by two gunmen.

Showrunner Dishes About Rollins And Carisi Coupling Up

The sneak peek from the episode, titled "Townhouse Incident," shows Benson intervenes in a home invasion and before she can be of help she is disarmed by the two perpetrators, who pin her to the wall, and she is made vulnerable by two guns pointed to her face. The threat is absolute: "One move and I'll blow a hole through your face."

The tagline for the preview reiterates that this one cannot be missed: "The SVU event you MUST see."

In a recent interview, Law & Order: SVU showrunner Warren Leight dished about the predicament Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) will find herself in in this episode.

"It almost feels like it takes place in real time at gunpoint in the middle of a home invasion so it has a different clock to it," Leight said. "Benson, a little stressed, steps into a hellish nightmare, drops her guard for a nanosecond and there goes, possibly, her life."

"Townhouse Incident" will air no January 13 on NBC.
