'The X-Files' 2016: How Is The Smoking Man Alive? EP Drops Shocking Finale Tease
How is X-Files Smoking Man still alive?
Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) are about to dive back into the world of aliens, ghosts, and everything else that goes bump in the night, and when they do, their main antagonist will be waiting for them. The Cigarette Smoking Man (William D. Davis) is back, and his seeming resurrection has fans wondering if he ever really died in the first place.
Just as you had to wait until the series finale to find out that C.G.B. Spender survived his wheelchair tumble, you will have to wait until the revival's finale to learn what really happened in New Mexico.
"In Episode 6, you're going to see exactly what the product of that failure to die was," series creator Chris Carter teased, according to TV Insider.
What's more, the CSM might not be the only one called out for his death-defying feats in "My Struggle: Part 2." Those viewers who believe in Scully's immortality will receive answers as well.
Scully's immortality has "certainly been suggested," Carter told Entertainment Weekly, although he was unable to confirm the suspicions.
"I can tell you this: Stay tuned for episode 6," Carter added.
