The details on episode 17 of The Vampire Diaries have now been released. The future installment, which is titled Because the Night, sends Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) on yet another trek, only this time it will be to New York City.

Damon makes the decision that Elena needs "some time away from Mystic Falls." While meandering the Big Apple, the elder Salvatore thinks back to his partying days in the 70's. At that point in time, Damon was into getting into trouble, club hopping, and was in a relationship with a girl named Lexi, which turns out to be quite complex.

Rebekah (Claire Holt) tracks the two to NYC and realizes that Elena has plenty more on her mind than seeing the Statue of Liberty and indulging in hot dogs off a vendor.

Meanwhile, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) team up once again. Only in this instance, their mission is to get Klaus (Joseph Morgan) to assist them in finding Silas. Bonnie (Kat Graham) still doesn't have a clue as to what's happening.

Prior to the latest spoilers, the details on the show's upcoming 16th episode, Bring It On, were revealed.

An out of control Elena, draws concern from Stefan, seeming to take life a bit too serious. Damon makes the decision to help Elena with the loss of Jeremy by removing all her emotions.

However, Stefan disagrees with him and feels that it was a bad idea and he's concerned that the new Elena isn't in tune with everything that makes her who she is.

True to his character, Damon isn't the least bit bothered by it and informs Stefan that they will, "Show her a Good Time!" However, Stefan isn't buying into the fact that it was effective.

Elena appears to be headed down a troublesome path, as she's seen feeding on a cheerleader squad. Caroline asks Elena if she's "eating the competition."

The Vampire Diaries is slated to air Bring It On and Because The Night on back-to-back Thursdays on March 14 and 21 respectively.
