In a highly anticipated Champions League showdown, Manchester United will face off against Real Madrid on Tuesday.

United must not get too caught up in trying to stop its former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo upon his return to Old Trafford. The superstar was a member of the squad for six seasons after inking a deal from Sporting Lisbon, netting 117 goals in 290 games there. He went on to turn into one of the game's greatest players in football prior to exiting to join Madrid in 2009.

Since putting on the Real uniform for the very first time Ronaldo has become even more of a star, scoring 185 times in 184 games. United skipper Alex Ferguson said the second leg of the Champions League last 16 won't be decided by the Spanish side's top player alone.

When queried whether he was concerned about Ronaldo garnering inspiration when he receives a reception at Old Trafford, Ferguson responded, "The biggest concern is if he turns up!"

"You know what to expect against a team with Ronaldo in and we have to try and curtail that. It won't be easy because he does it every week. It's not an accident with the lad," he added.

Ronaldo himself took to Instagram to admit that he 's indeed stoked about returning to his former home field.

"I'm looking forward to return to Old Trafford. I've so many good memories there," he wrote. "It will be an exciting game and our goal is to win."
