Photos taken of the Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues set show Will Ferrell in full Ron Burgundy costume - mustache included - along with Christina Applegate reprising her role as fellow news anchor and love interest Veronica Corningstone.

In one photo Ferrell is shown walking on the New Orleans set of the film in his character's signature burgundy-colored suit. It is the first on-set photo of Ferrell, according to MTV. The actor returned for the film's sequel to play the Emmy award-winning Channel 4 News anchor. Another photo showed Corningstone with her signature blonde tresses.

The offical poster for the film, released in May of 2012, only shows the legs and feet of the characters with a release date of 2013. The first film's director and co-writer, Adam McKay, returned for the sequel along with Steve Carell and Paul Rudd. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy ended with Burgundy on network news while Brick Tamland eventually moved to work for President George W. Bush.

Not much has been revealed to the public about the new movie's plot but Anchorman 2 producer Judd Apatow said in December of 2012 that the script is very funny.

"We read it a few weeks ago and people were laughing so hard that at about 40 minutes in we all just ran out of gas," Apatow noted. "It was hard to read the whole thing because we got tired [from laughing]. I've never seen anyone delight in playing a character than Will acting like Ron Burgundy all day. He's just so happy doing it it's infectious."

It was reported on Monday that Harrison Ford will join the Anchorman 2 cast and play a fellow news anchor.
