Erin Andrews appeared to have rebuffed 50 Cent's kiss at the Daytona 500 last month and the awkward moment was captured on video.

The footage went viral and it sparked a host of memes, gifs and jokes in social media so Andrews took the time to explain what really happened in

The 34-year-old said after the race track competition ended, she was searching for driver Danica Patrick for an interview when was greeted by the Queens rapper. When he leaned in to kiss her she turned away from him- but not to insult him. She said the incident, which has been blown out of proportion in many reports, was "entirely her fault."

"Can you tell me about 50 Cent, was he trying to go in for a kiss?" a TMZ reporter asked her.

"No he wasn't. Actually, it was my fault," Andrews replied. "Because I was so rushed and the drivers weren't there, and all we wanted to do was get Danica [Patrick] because she was obviously the biggest story. It was my fault, I went in one way, he went in the other. Then they screamed in my ear, 'Go get her, go get her!' I ran, I panicked, I jerked my head very awkwardly."

She gave the same explanation in several other TV interviews.

"I went one way, he went another" she told Extra! before re-enacting what happened.

In another report she said she was trying to get a hold of Patrick but the race car drivers' lengthy bathroom break was partly to blame for her wait during which 50 Cent approached her.

"It was my fault," Andrews told Access Hollywood at the 2013 FOX Sports Upfront after party in New York City on Tuesday. "I was rushed - none of the drivers were in their spot for the Daytona 500 pit walk. They were all in the bathroom. Everybody was supposed to be in their spot and then they all went to the bathroom and I was screwed."

Andrews then explained that she and 50 Cent are in business together- she is a spokesperson for the SK Energy beverage brand he co-founded.

"I went and said hello [to him]. We're actually business partners," she said. "He grabbed me, I went one way, they screamed 'Danica,' I whipped my neck, I got whiplash and it's fine. As long as he makes me a lot of money with SK energy I'll be happy!"

The Dancing with the Stars alum described 50 Cent as "the best."

Andrews currently hosts FOX College Football for Fox Sports. She previously worked for College GameDay on ESPN and was a contributor for ABC's Good Morning America.

50 Cent will appear at the annual SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas, on March 16. He will be interviewed by media and have an autograph signing with fans, according to SXSW's website. The rapper rose to fame after he was discovered by Dr. Dre. Last year, the multi-millionaire entrepreneur launched SMS headphones and will releases his next album, Street King Immortal, later this year.
