Kanye West Nearly Fires Handyman After Calling Kim Kardashian 'Bianca' – Awkward Mansion Moment Revealed in Court

A handyman working on Kanye West's $57 million Malibu mansion nearly lost his job after mistakenly calling West's then-wife Kim Kardashian by the wrong name during a tense encounter, court testimony revealed.
According to the New York Post, Jeromy Holding, 53, told the Downtown Los Angeles courtroom on Monday that the incident occurred in October 2021, when he saw Kardashian arrive in a Lamborghini with her children while he was outside the property.
Thinking Kardashian was the project's architect, Bianca Censori, Holding waved and said, "Hi," he testified. Kardashian, surprised, walked by quickly and replied, "I don't know you," per RollingStone.
Holding then explained, "I thought you were Bianca." He added that he witnessed West and Kardashian arguing at the time, noting the couple was in the midst of a divorce. Kardashian sped off with her children in the vehicle.
Holding described his immediate fear of being fired. He recounted West approaching him angrily and saying, "She's the most famous woman in the world and you call her by another woman's name?" Holding said he tried to explain, but West simply responded, "nahh," and ultimately kept him employed.
The handyman also detailed the challenges of working on West's home. "On a dime," he said, West frequently changed the design concepts, shifting plans from a "bomb shelter" to a "monastery," a "recording studio," and finally a "playground."
Holding appeared in court with a limp and three bandaged fingers, explaining that he had recently cut off his pinky while working and had it reattached.
The lawsuit, filed by Tony Saxon, alleges unpaid wages, unsafe working conditions, and wrongful termination related to managing, securing, and living at the mansion during the remodel. Saxon is seeking over $1 million in damages.
A spokesperson for West told the Post, "The truth is that Tony worked as an independent contractor, unlicensed and unsafe, masquerading as a properly licensed worker." Both West and Censori are expected to testify in the ongoing trial.
The case highlights the difficulties and eccentricities surrounding the renovation of West's former beachfront property, which involved nearly complete redesigns of the original mansion and intense on-site supervision by the rapper.
