"A Good Treason" ended badly for Ragnar's oldest son, but an early Easter egg has us certain everything will work out for Bjorn in the end. After all, the raid on Paris has furnished the warrior with his first map of the Mediterranean.

Bjorn doesn't know it, but that map is the key to his own adventure.

"The other thing that's in the back of my mind: Bjorn is famous for having sailed around the Mediterranean," series creator Michael Hirst teased, according to Entertainment Weekly. "He went to Spain. He attacked what he thought was Rome."

Will Bjorn's departure happen sooner than we thought? Hirst has expanded the Vikings universe drastically over the last three years, and the writer appears to be itching to take the Norseman as far as possible.

"In subsequent seasons, if we get there, there's amazing things we can show," Hirst teased. "I read the other day that they found a little statue of a Buddha in a Viking grave in Russia. It's amazing! They just got everywhere!"

For now, however, Bjorn needs to find away to survive the Norwegian winter on his own (see video below).

Vikings airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on the History Channel.
