Fox's Bones officially has an end date.

'Bones' Star Michaela Conlin Talks 'A Lot Of Angst' Ahead For Angela & Hodgins

Bones is ending after 12 seasons, according to a new Fox announcement. The show is currently in its 11th season, but Fox is letting the show air a proper conclusion with a 12-episode 12th season.

Stars Emily Deschanel (who plays Brennan) and David Boreanaz (who plays Booth) both commented on the big announcement.

How Did Fox Respond To 'Bones' Executive Producer's Lawsuit?

"I am thrilled the show will have the ending it deserves for all of our amazing, loyal fans!" Deschanel said in a statement.

"This is for the fans! Thank you to everyone at Fox and of course [network co-chairmen] Dana [Walden] and Gary [Newman] - for all your support," Boreanaz said. "Thank you to [executive producers] Hart [Hanson], Stephen [Nathan], Ian [Toynton], Michael [Peterson] and Jonathan [Collier]. Also to the crew and cast for their countless support along the way! And I couldn't have done it without you, Emily!"

Many Bones fans have taken to Twitter to voice their opinions on the show ending after 12 seasons, with some upset and others more okay with it.

Bones returns for the second half of season 11 on Thursday, April 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
