NCIS: Los Angeles is ready to welcome back Nate Getz...with a twist.

'NCIS: LA' Season 7: Are You Ready To Dive THIS Character's Past? Episode 20 Title Revealed

The operational psychologist tends to disappear into the background until an OSP agents needs a little head shrinking, but when Nate (Peter Cambor) returns this spring, he might be the one in need a little help.

"After going dark for three months while on a long-term undercover op tied to terrorism in L.A., Getz resurfaces on security footage stealing a military transport of weapons," Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams revealed on Friday. "When Callen and Sam track him down, he double-crosses the duo, taking Callen hostage and torturing him for information."

WHAT? Double-crossing and torture? What's happened to our sweet, innocent Nate? The good doctor had better have a damn good reason for his actions, or else we're going to be very, very disappointed in him. Given his track record, we think it's safe to assume he is playing an angle. Then again, we also thought Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) was innocent...

It's been almost two seasons since Nate dropped by in "3rd Choir," and we're itching to find out what he's been up to in the meantime (see video below).

NCIS: LA airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
