K. Michelle and Mickey “Memphitz” Wright might have buried their drama after she went to VH1’s Love & Hip Hop Atlanta to claim that he physically abused her. But their decision to make amends hasn’t stopped the singer from opening up about it.

“[I was told] by the higher-ups to be quiet, so I was never quiet,” she told HuffPost Live Thursday. “If I have this pedestal that they’re trying to place me up on, I’m going to use it, whether to support Kesha or just an everyday woman.”

K. Michelle was referring to singer Kesha’s current situation in which she is trying to get out of her contract with her record label (Sony) after she said Dr. Luke sexually abused her.

“Support is what is needed to make the changes within the industry and within other aspects of society right now,” K. Michelle added.

The singer has been pretty vocal about standing up for issues. She also expressed her recent support Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton at a campaign.

“I pick certain things that are important to me. I believe you can’t take every issue in the world, but you pick what’s important to you, a couple things, and you drive them home.”

She added that Clinton’s support for Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU).

“That caught my attention and I said, ‘You know what? This is who I want to support!’”

She added that Donald Trump is popular for the “microwave society” that we currently live in.
