Their struggles at keeping their marriage intact were hinted at during the sixth season of Sister Wives, but it appears therapy may not have genuinely helped Christine and Kody Brown.

Kody and his third wife went through intensive therapy sessions last season, including on their anniversary trip to Galveston, Texas, which showed that the pair had intense issues when it comes to their communication with one another. However, in a new interview, Christine's aunt, Kristyn Decker, reveals that Christine isn't actually happy with her marriage at all, or even with her fellow sister wives, Meri, Janelle and Robyn .

"I don't believe that she's happy," Decker says. "...There is a lack of connection between the women. They don't know where to stand when they're talking about their relationship with the other women. They don't get the quality time they want with their husband. Neither do the children. The spousal connection isn't there. They are happy because they believe they are serving God or their God. But it is miserable happiness."

When Christine and Kody saw a therapist last year, it unveiled some of their deeper issues, especially when they were asked to build a rock tower which symbolized their specific relationship—but Kody still built one symbolizing their family and all four of his marriages.

More issues arose later on as well, when Christine finally voiced how she felt about their relationship, especially in comparison to the one he shared with his fourth wife, Robyn.

"To me, the rock tower was very symbolic of our relationship because over the years you've needed things from me and I've just done them," Christine said at the time. "I didn't really have a voice and I didn't really express a voice, I just thought, 'Oh, okay, that's the way it's going to be. I'll just go and do it, whatever you say.' And I look back, and there's a lot of times where I was just so frustrated, but I didn't really speak and it ends up being something that I'm angry about now, because I didn't stand up for myself then."

But what seemed like it may have been a partial breakthrough for the couple doesn't seem to have lasted, as Christine's aunt's comments aren't the only potential sign of trouble for the couple. While her fellow sister wives share details about their personal lives and/or inspirational messages on their Twitter accounts more often, Christine rarely uses hers at all, and never really seems to discuss her personal life with Kody when she does, opting instead to re-tweet things by some of the kids or to write about them in general.

In addition, there has been no news about the show's possible continued season 6 on TLC. The last episode aired in November, and there hasn't been any word on whether it is coming back, which only adds to the speculation that the family is in trouble over all.
