The Cruel Intentions TV show is adding another famous television star.

On Tuesday, Variety announced that The O.C. star Peter Gallagher will be joining the upcoming NBC show based on the 1999 movie. Gallagher will be playing Edward Valmont, the father of Sebastian who died in the movie.

Edward is described as a "sexy, beguiling, sophisticated, powerful and ruthless billionaire hotel magnate." And when he finds out that he has a long-lost grandson named Bash, he grooms for a life with money and power.

Bash is the son of Sebastian and Annette who was played by Reese Witherspoon in the film. Her character will be played by Kate Levering, known for Drop Dead Diva, Like Dandelion Dust and Chlorine.

Fans might also be happy to know that Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played the evil and manipulative Kathryn in the movie, has signed on to reprise her role in the TV show. The actress took to Instagram to announce the news and showed a picture of her look that everyone is probably familiar with.

The series will take place 15 years after Sebastian's death and the teen years of Bash who finds himself in the world of deceit, betrayal and leadership.
