Sorry, Switched at Birth fans. Some more bad news has been delivered.

It was already announced earlier this month that the fifth season of the Freeform drama would be the final. And if that's not bad enough, prepare to hear something even more unfortunate.

The fifth season was supposed to premiere sometime next month. But that date has been extended...for another year.

The final episodes won't be airing on television until 2017, according to series creator Lizzy Weiss.

Even though fans are going to have to be patient at this point, Weiss pointed out that it's still going to be worth it in the end.

Weiss was also nice enough to give fans a little tease of an upcoming episode that will tackle a storyline about race. Apparently, this will be pretty emotional.

The last episode of the series involved Bay and Daphne in another country where all seemed to be going smoothly until they received a mysterious phone call. It did not sound like they heard anything pleasant and now everyone will have to wait till next year to find out what that contained.
