Noah Wyle is diving head first into The Librarians season 3.

The series' titular character made the jump from TNT's film trilogy to the spinoff series back in 2014, but since then, Flynn Carsen (Wyle) has divvied up his head librarian duties to Eve (Rebecca Romijn), Cassandra (Lindy Booth), Ezekiel (John Kim), and Jake (Christian Kane). Now, however, Wyle is slated to air in seven of season 3's ten episodes while writing one and directing two.

"I'm very excited about the third season of The Librarians and the opportunity to act, produce, direct and write," the former Falling Skies star told Deadline. "Going forward, I have four different ways of approaching what I want to do - I can generate my own material by writing, I can produce, direct, act or do a combination of these things, mixing it up."

Executive producer Dean Devlin took to Twitter to celebrate the good news.

While speaking with Deadline, Devlin decribed season 3 as "a bit scarier, with a little bit higher stakes to put more pressure on the characters and how they handle things."

Considering the premiere title, it sounds like Flynn, Jenkins, Eve, Jake, Cassandra, and Ezekiel will have plenty of new baddies to contend with. Prospero is gone, but magic is still running amok across the globe.

Sounds like season 3 will be an all hands on deck type of situation.
