Is Janet Jackson really pregnant with her first child?

That's what her fans can't help but wonder as the former chart topper mysteriously canceled her upcoming world tour for her "family plans." Yet, the singer hasn't specified whether or not she's pregnant, leaving her fans upset that she cancelled her tour plans.

According to People on Wednesday, Jackson and her husband, Wissam Al Mana, have lived a relatively quiet life outside of the public eye, saying very little about their marriage and their personal lives. This has prompted both fans and critics to wonder if they are indeed pregnant or if they are planning to adopt a baby. Either way, the news is not sitting well with a lot of commentators.

Some critics have said, "I love Janet to pieces, but something about this baby news does not ring quite true. Ever since Janet's been married to this dude, she has not been the Janet we've known," along with, "So, she plans a world tour (no small feat) and in the middle decides it's time to start a family? I could understand if she was in her mid 30's or early 40's. But to do this at 49, as if she just 'realized' she's on the end of her 'fruitfulness' is suspect."

Another reader wrote, "Whether it's a real pregnancy or adoption makes no difference, the fact is she is not being 'fully' honest in the media, nor to her fans. Why not just tell the entire truth? 'I had surgery for ___, and I'm hoping to be pregnant by, or I'm in the process of adopting a baby.'"

So far Jackson herself has not made any additional comments about her baby plans. She and Al Mana have been married since 2012.
