Even a 197 IQ doesn't make romance any easier. In fact, for Scorpion's Walter O'Brien, his intellect generally just gets in the way.

After two year's of working with Paige (Katharine McPhee), however, Walter (Elyes Gabel) has discovered that it's okay to let emotions rule the day. His ever-evolving EQ helped save Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas), and now it might just help him get the girl. Lake Tahoe, here we come.

Quntis and Waige fans have a long hiatus in front of them, but Thomas promises the wait will be worth it.

"After the very last scene of the finale, as much as that has answered things, it's going to make the season premiere that much more exciting," Thomas teased, according to Entertainment Weekly. "So many questions and wants and needs for Walter and Paige and Happy and Toby are being opened up, and it's really exciting."

Unlike Walter and Paige, Toby and Happy (Jadyn Wong) have already moved past the awkward first phase of dating. Writers are intent on ensuring an organic progression for both 'ships, and, unfortunately for fans of the former, it will still be some time before the SS Waige gets to unfurl its sails.

"[The finale] tees up more Waige. That's as far as we can go," executive producer Nick Santora explained to TV Line. "We can't promise that in the first episode of next season, they're going to be holding hands and running through a valley of golden flowers together. But at the same time, the Waige relationship will always be there. Even if it's bubbling under the surface, even if they have relationships with other people, it's always there."

In other words, fans should stay tuned. Unlike some series, Scorpion isn't planning on building up a romance merely to toss it aside before it comes to fruition.
