Dead doppelgangers are the order of the day for The Flash.

From Black Siren (Katie Cassidy), to Reverb (Carlos Valdes), to Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker), Central City's Scarlett Speedster will be shocked to see a few familiar faces amongst Zoom's (Teddy Sears) "Invincible" meta army. The emergence of Laurel Lance's Earth-2 iteration will leave the STAR Labs team floored, but it's the return of Cisco and Caitlin's doppelgangers that have fans buzzing.

Photos from season 2's penultimate episode show Reverb and Killer Frost standing soldier to soldier with Zoom's trusted lieutenant, the Black Siren. We don't know exactly how Hunter will raise the dead, but Valdes promises viewers will be surprised.

Are they time remnants? Is it a flashback? Were their deaths merely a ruse? Or will the STAR Labs team find some way to convince Black Siren that Earth-1 Cisco and Caitlin are really the Earth-2 rogues? The latter seems implausible, but at least one photo shows Killer Frost looking less conniving than the ice queen we've come to know.

What ever goes down, we know one thing for sure. Team Flash will not be prepared for a Laurel Lance doppelganger. For the members of the Arrowverse, the Black Canary's death is still an open wound.

"Laurel's death is pretty ubiquitous in this DC TV universe [so to see] a version of Laurel that's alive, that does things to somebody's consciousness, especially after processing grief," Valdes told TV Line. "There's definitely a bit of shock there and difficulty grappling with reality."
