MTV has cancelled hit reality show Buckwild after just one season following the recent death of Shain Gandee.

MTV decided to pull the plug on the show after the sudden death of Gandee nd production has been already been stopped halfway through filming the second season. MTV has not released an official statement on the cancellation as of yet but is expected to make a statement on April 10.

Gandee was found dead from carbon monoxide poisoning in a car with two others on April 1. Gandee, his uncle David Gandee, and friend Robert Myers tragically died after going off-roading in a Ford Bronco.

Despite four episodes of the second season of the hit show being filmed, MTV is not expected to air them.

Gandee, who was given the nickname "Gandee Candy" for his sunny disposition, was one of the most popular members on the show, which is in its first season. The show was recently approved to air a second season, according to MTV.

MTV had released a statement about the sudden loss of Gandee."We are shocked and saddened by the terrible news about Shain Gandee, and those involved in this tragic incident. We are waiting for more information but at this time, our main concern is for the Gandee family and their friends."

MTV added, "Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Shain had a magnetic personality, with a passion for life that touched everyone he met and we will miss him dearly."
