Kate Mulgrew will have plenty of material in season 4 of Orange Is the New Black, sharing key scenes with Taylor Schilling and Michael J. Harney in particular.

Mulgrew, who plays Red on the prison comedy-drama, spoke at a Paley Center event last week about what's ahead for her and Healy (Harney), who developed a deeper personal connection in season 3.

"I have some interesting things with Michael Harney," Mulgrew said on the red carpet before the event. "I think that it is a deep friendship...it's an edgy kind of thing, and for me to put too fine a point on it would be a mistake."

Harney suggested that there will be some developments between Healy and Red. Whether these are romantic developments remains to be seen, but Harney said on the red carpet that "you'll be moved internally by some of the events that take place that have connection with us."

As for her scenes with Schilling, who plays Piper on the series, Mulgrew indicated that Red may be reaching a bit of a breaking point.

"There's a lot of stuff with Taylor Schilling. 'cause we share the same cell, and now we share it with others, so all of that is overburdened, overshared and overdone, and Red's had quite enough!" she said.

The actress also spoke with Entertainment Weekly recently about where things stand for Red and her beloved kitchen.

"You know how profoundly important this is to Red. My kitchen is a metaphor for my life, my character. It's a central part of who I am, I have to have it and I have to have it my way," she said. "So I think this constant drive to reclaim with excellence, to reclaim it against all odds is at the very core of Red's being and in season 4 you're going to see that severely threatened in a way that it has not been before, in a way that is very unusual for Red and extremely disconcerting and unsettling. It discombobulates her very being, so you're going to see all of that."

Orange Is the New Black season 4 is slated to drop on Friday, June 17 on Netflix.
