One of the newest additions on Netflix's Bloodline speaks on her character's manipulative ways.

Andrea Riseborough played one of the more intriguing characters on the recently released second season of Bloodline. Playing Evangeline, the mother of Danny's (Ben Mendelsohn) child, Riseborough helped create another messed up, manipulative character in the Florida Keys drama.

The actress spoke on playing this role in a recent interview:

"I think there's something intrinsically charming about Evangeline, as wild and wayward as she is," she told Variety. "When around her, people want to protect her. You see it with Sissy [Spacek]'s character; there's something about Sally where you feel she's looking at her young self. And Evangeline deeply aspires to belong. It's bananas the way the season starts and at the end they're living together like the Waltons. How has she swung this? But really she's just kind of been herself."

Riseborough expanded upon how Evangeline is another example of a young woman inspiring others to protect her, and how she creates such a large space for herself despite her size.

"It's a very specific skill for a person to have, making people want to protect them. As an actor with a vagina, so often it's almost like we get groomed like Arabian mares to inspire protection from men," she said. "The way we look, the slightness of film and television actors, that sort of frailty. I think about it often. As tiny as [Evangeline] is, she does occupy space. She has a big spirit. She's like the Death Star that sucks you in in Star Wars."

While Netflix has yet to renew Bloodline for a third season, Riseborough teased that she is ready to continue onward with the series.

"Yes! I had a brilliant experience," she said, when asked if she would return for season 3. "I'm contractually signed in for another season, that was a decision I made before I even said yes."

The first two seasons of Bloodline are available to stream now on Netflix.
