It's official - Supernatural's Sam Winchester did take a bullet in the season 11 finale.

As "Alpha and Omega" came to an end, the younger Winchester returned to the bunker, replete with sorrow following Dean's (Jensen Ackles) supposed death. He didn't have much time to mourn, however, as Lady Toni Bevell (Elizabeth Blackmore) was waiting on their doorstep, gun in hand. Sent by the Men of Letters to bring the rouge hunters in, the Brit sent a bullet in Sam's (Jared Padalecki) direction as the episode came to a close. According to Padalecki, the slug hit its mark.

"She shot him. I don't know where, but I know she shot him," Padalecki confirmed on Wednesday, according to TV Line.

Of course, this isn't the first time Sammy's taken a bullet. The Winchester bros have been stabbed, punched, tortured, and shot multiple times across the years, and their penchant for injuries is a trope that will undoubtedly continue ad infinitum. They live dangerous lives, after all.

"What else is new - Sam gets injured," Padalecki teased. "At least I'm not getting tortured - yet."

Believing in the certainty of Dean's death is torment enough, is it not? We're anxious to see how Sam will react when he finds out the both his brother and his mother are suddenly alive and well.

"I love [Mary's portrayer] Samantha Smith. So I was like, 'We get Sam back! That's awesome!'" Padalecki told TV Line. "My reaction as a fan of the show was, 'What a cool show to be a part of where we can do that and get away with it.' [That] and I was just really stoked."
