Supernatural's Sam and Dean will return for season 12 just in time for you to begin stocking up on rock salt and holy water for All Hallows Eve.

The CW's longest running drama will move the Winchester brothers to Thursday nights this fall, dropping the boys back into the Impala for an Oct. 13 premiere. Amara (Emily Swallow) is gone, but the Winchesters' problems are far from over. If episode 1 picks up directly following the events of "Alpha and Omega," Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) will have their plates full right from the jump.

Unfortunately, details regarding the premiere are few and far between. Even the series' leads are still in the dark.

"Y'all know bout the show exactly what we know about the show," Padalecki told fans at Creation Entertainment's Salute to Supernatural in Phoenix last weekend. "During the year, that doesn't exist. During the year, we know what's going on; we know five storylines ahead, seven storylines ahead."

Luckily, this year's San Diego Comic-Con will take place several weeks after the start of filming. Should the Supernatural cast make an appearance (we're willing to bet they will), Padalecki and Ackles will have plenty of teasers to share - and possibly a season 12 sneak peek!

In the meantime, fans are left to wonder what the final moments of the May finale means for the indefatigable heroes (see the video below). Sam, believing Dean sacrificed himself to take down the Darkness, returned to the bunker to find a Woman of Letters ready to take him down. An unseen gunshot left fans wondering if Lady Bevell (Elizabeth Blackmore) hit her mark, but Dean's revelation over shadowed his brother's mysterious fate. Thanks to the Darkness, Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith) is back from the dead...
