"American Idol" top 5 eliminations results show kicked off Thursday with intense speculation over who would be eliminated. When the moment finally came, it was revealed that Janelle Arthur was going home.

Kree Harrison survived the elimination and Arthur performed a song to try to get the one and only "save vote" from the judges allowed in the competition. While Arthur was performing, the four judges Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban seemed in intense dicussions to decide whether or not to keep her in the competition.

When it was the final moment, the judges unveiled their decision:

"Unfortunately we are not gonna use it we love you though, we do love you," Randy Jackson said. He said two of the judges voted yes and two voted no.

The three contestants that were saved first were Candice Glover, Angie Miller and Amber Holcomb in that order. 

Clay Aiken and Fantasia performed on tonight's show and former American Idol judge Fantasia made a surprising appearance.
