Netflix Gilmore Girls revival will welcome Doctor Who's Alex Kingston to the Stars Hollow family.

ER and Gilmore Girls filmed simultaneously on the Warner Bros. lot back in the day, and although Kingston watched Alexis Bledel (Rory) grow up off screen, the actress never had a chance to share the screen with Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and her whip-smart daughter. Until now, that is.

"I also got to play a role in the reboot of the Gilmore Girls, which is happening for Netflix," Kingston told fans at Florida Supercon last weekend, eliciting excited gasps from the crowd (because who doesn't love GG?).

Unfortunately, Kingston couldn't divulge much in the way of character details, leaving fans to carefully parse her word for spoilers.

"They've released the information so I know we're allowed to talk about it now, but I don't know how much we're allowed to talk about because they're very protective of it," the actress teased. "I play a sort of very eccentric character in a couple of those episodes."

Multiple appearances!? The god of television is certainly smiling down on Amy Sherman-Palladino's latest venture.

What's more, it sounds as if A Year in the Life's latest addition won't be a townie. While the bulk of Stars Hollow is filmed on the WB back lot, Kingston's scenes took place on location. Is the mystery character connected with the blue bloods of Hartford or Chilton? Could she be involved with Christopher (David Sutcliffe)? The possibilities are endless!

Kingston won't be the only new face to join the beloved Gilmore Girls cast for A Year in the Life. After nearly a decade off screen, Stars Hollow and its fast-talking, pop culture encyclopedias will have a whole host of new friends, co-workers, and potential love interests.

The Gilmore Girls revival will hit Netflix this fall.
