Orange Is the New Black fans have seen a few characters leave and come back at a few points in the series, but should we expect a Bennett (Matt McGorry) return, too?

*Spoilers through the season 4 finale of Orange Is the New Black ahead*

Bennett was last seen quitting his job as corrections officer at the Litchfield Penitentiary and abandoning the inmate he impregnated, Daya (Dascha Polanco). This was the second episode of the third season and we have yet to see another glimpse of the character. McGorry himself recently admitted that he does not know if Bennett will return.

"At this point, I don't know what will happen next," McGorry told Bustle recently. "I wish I could give you more information, but I don't know anything at this point."

McGorry also spoke to the dynamic between Bennett and Daya and how the end of their story was ultimately inevitable.

"Considering what their story actually looked like, it was probably the only way it could have ended," he said.

As for McGorry's final episode, which featured flashbacks to Bennett's past (including a particularly inspired dance number set to Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl"), the actor was very pleased with how it came out.

"It was better than I could have imagined," he admitted.

McGorry is now a series regular on ABC's How to Get Away with Murder and is currently filming a new movie called Step Sisters. However, it's still possible that he could find time to film new episodes of Orange Is the New Black.

Meanwhile, Daya took a backseat through most of season 4, though she was part of a huge cliffhanger finale moment. The incident involved the entire prison rising up and protesting against the guards, with Daya picking up one of the guards' guns and aiming it. What comes next will have to wait until next year.

Orange Is the New Black season 5 will drop next summer on Netflix, while the first four seasons are available to watch (and watch again!) now.
