Dragon Ball Super is arguably in its bets arc to date, with the Future Trunks arc in full swing. With the initial skirmish between Goku and Black Goku over, the intricacies of the arc's plot have begun to unravel. Considering recent leaks, it seems like the next few episodes will hold the key to the mysteries of the ongoing arc.

Perhaps the biggest mystery in the Future Trunks arc is the villain, Black Goku himself. Up to this point, very little is still known about him, save for the fact that he seems to be inhabiting Goku's body and he has a Time Ring, which is used exclusively by the Kais.

According to recent episode title and summary leaks, however, the mystery behind Black Goku's real identity would be explored in the next couple of episodes. While the episode this Sunday would primarily deal with Future Trunks and Gohan, it is safe to assume that Dragon Ball Super would reveal a little bit more about its antagonist in the episode again.

What is most interesting, however, is the fact that Whis and Beerus have noticed that Black Goku's energy is practically identical to that of a Kai from Universe 10. This Kai, Zamasu, who is featured in the series' new opening theme, seems to be closely related to Black Goku. Indeed, considering that both Zamasu and Black Goku are wearing Potara earrings, some fans are speculating that the two might very well be fused together in some way.

Nevertheless, Episode 53 would feature Whis, Beerus and Goku going to Universe 10 to confront Zamasu himself. While there, Goku would apparently challenge him to a battle. It would be pretty interesting what happens when Goku challenges Zamasu, since he might have a different conclusion from that of Goku and Black Goku's fight. While Goku was able to best Black Goku without much problem, facing Zamasu would be a much different story.

If any, the fight between Zamasu and Goku should definitely be one of the most notable. Considering the stakes of the story thus far, Dragon Ball Super Episode 53 could not come sooner.
