Sadly, there are only 12 episodes left of Fox's Bones, but the final episodes will have some happy moments.

It's the end of an era for fans of Bones, which began in 2005. The series has been on Fox for 11 seasons now, with Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) and the rest of the Jeffersonian gang going through all sorts of ups and downs. Even though the season 11 finale ended with Brennan being kidnapped, there are some good times ahead for the characters.

Bones co-showrunner Michael Peterson said as much in a new interview with Paste, revealing that there will be some kissing in the final season.

"I think the fans would like it if Booth and Brennan kissed right at the end of the final, entire episode. Six acts of just kissing would make them very happy, at least a certain segment of the fans," Peterson teased. "We'll probably throw in some mystery with the kissing, but that seems to be what they mostly want. Lots of kissing, explaining a couple mysteries, like 447 and stuff like that, but, mostly kissing. So we will do our best."

There's also an upcoming wedding to look forward to, between Cam (Tamara Taylor) and Arastoo (Pej Vahdat).

"I'm so glad, so glad," Taylor told the magazine, of learning that the wedding will happen. "I thought they were going to pull a fast one on this, and make me the one that didn't get married."

Even though this is the end, Boreanaz doesn't exactly see it that way.

"It's not an end; it's just like, growth," Boreanaz explained in the interview. "You go on, you do things, but you put it to bed in a way, it's like 'Okay, well we're not gonna be on those stages anymore.' We're gonna be sad and not see certain people and crew members. So, that will take its course."

Bones season 12 will premiere in 2017 on Fox, though the specific premiere date is not yet known. The series was originally supposed to conclude its final season in the fall, but Fox pushed it back to 2017 to make room for a new series, Pitch.
