The Flash's Barry Allen is determined to win Iris' heart, no matter what timeline he's stuck in.

In a scene that looked like it was pulled straight from the pages of a classic comic book, the season 2 finale gave WestAllen 'shippers exactly what they've been waiting for - a promise that the childhood pals will cast their platonic shackles aside in the near future. Now that Iris (Candice Patton) doesn't remember that timeline, however, Barry (Grant Gustin) is back to square one.

"He knows that that conversation from the season 2 finale on the porch with Iris still happened, as far as he remembers," Gustin said at San Diego Comic-Con. "He remembers that happening, so I think he plan is like, 'I'm just going to find her and it's going to work out.' You know, good old Barry logic."

The Flash took filming to the streets of Yaletown on Wednesday night, proving that the Scarlet Speedster will begin courting Flashpoint Iris as soon as episode 3. It appears Barry is pulling out all the stops in an effort to get his new reality to work in his favor.

Let's hope nothing (or no one) throws date night into disarray! At least Barry isn't courting an entirely different version of his dream girl. Flashpoint put the pair on different paths, and although the childhood pals didn't grow up sharing a bathroom, Iris' disposition will still be very much the same.

She's kind of this fixed point for Barry Allen, and I think no matter where we find her... she's always kind of the same," Patton told Comics Beat. "She's always very similar to the Iris that he knows and feels a connection to."
