Fans can expect some amazing moments in the new season of Nashville.

On Monday, Digital Spy got some details from Charles Esten who's known for playing Deacon on the former ABC series, which has been renewed on CMT. He mentioned that the new season might be the "greatest" one so far with lots of exciting things to happen.

"There was definitely more stories to be told and songs to be sung," Esten said. "I'm a big boy and I've been around the block so I know that these sorts of things can happen. Having said that, in no way did I think we were done sharing the stories of Nashville. And I was hopeful that someone else might agree."

The actor added that CMT is a "very perfect fit" for the series and he's really looking forward to the marvelous new season.

"CMT is going to offer us a magical new season; when you guys are done with season four, I hope you really love five," Esten said. "There's good things ahead- we have new showrunners with Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz, and they are renowned talents at writing and running shows. And they know what they're doing. From everything we've spoken about together, we're definitely on the same page in terms of where they want to take the show."

This season ought to be something incredible since the series was canceled at ABC only to miraculously find a new home on CMT.

"They're going to bring some real magic to the fifth season as well," Esten said. "That was another interesting and cool thing- when you lose something, even if it's for a week, when you get it back it's even more special."

Connie Britton is also expected to return to the series to play Rayna.
